We have low turnover, especially for general transcribers, but occasionally we have openings for overflow work, especially for transcribers who are legally certified and have experience with VTT files, our greatest need now.

Some guidelines:

• To apply to be a contractor to work from your home on any project, you MUST have transcription experience, transcription software (such as Express Scribe) and a USB pedal. If so, you can send your resume to Paula at paula@transcribepros.com.

• Let me know if you have any official certification, especially in legal or medical transcription, such as being CITI-certified, CART-certified, or have a legal CET transcription certification to create documents for court.

• Are you HIPAA-compliant?

• Let me know if you speak a foreign language fluently, are based in the Chicago area, have a college degree, have experience inserting time code at regular intervals, have experience with closed and/or live captioning, and/or are tech savvy enough to complete tasks such as enhancing sound quality on a poor recording or converting streaming files into mp3s. Experience with Audacity or other such tools is encouraged.

• Also let me know, if you are comfortable doing so, if you are a person of color; we need a more diverse pool here, to reflect the clients we serve.
